Great gadget, With my busy schedule, this is so helpful to me in remembering appointments and things to do. Definitely helps my efficiency.
Excellent for the Price, The button sequence could confuse you if you are not a frequent user. For me it is not "intuitive" enough. I am 65 and suspect that my 13 year old grandson could operate it with his eyes closed.
Way too sensitive and can't download to pc, What is the point of digital if there is no way to download? Very confusing controls. Even with mike (bought seperately) there is not control of sensitivity.
Perfect for how it is used!, My son who is a musician uses this to record his thoughts and new lyrics or song licks.He loves it though it does seem to eat batteries if you use it a lot. Which he does.

Awesome, I love this little wonder. It is so tiny and so easy to use, even for me! The instructions were easy to follow but the device is so clearly marked I have not needed them. I love the folders. I use folder A for shopping lists and reminders, B is for appointments and events I need to add to my calendar, C is for personal notes and reminders and D is for work related notes, reminders and appointments. I use it mostly in the car where I have my "me" time. I am not distracted because I just hit record and talk, it is that simple. The sound is great anywhere. It is so easy to move around from folder to folder and from message to message. There were times I thought it would be nice to be able to save some of the recordings then I realized that this little wonder even holds me accountable to actually take care of my to-do list! Now instead of saving the reminder I actually have to take care of it. When I hit erase, I am done, really done! I like the power button and use it so I don't record the inside of my purse. After about a month I still have lots of power and am still discovering new ways to let this little wonder make my life easier! I received my order fast and in perfect condition. This is a must-have for the busy people in my life and is going to make my Christmas shopping much easier this year.
Looses to pad and pencil...., I've used Olympus recorders for several years, don't need anything fancy or lots of bells & whistles. My old Olympus recorder broke so I replaced it with this one. The design is really poor; unlike the old unit which has low-detent buttons the record & stop buttons are high-profile and if carried in your pocket with a camera, wallet, spare change, etc., the recorder tends to start recording on it's own (you never know...). The worst feature is the cumbersomely slow response time... my old recorder could be used for rapid fire note taking. When you press the stop button on this recorder, it takes several seconds to store your note while you wait for the memory/activity light to stop flashing. If you need to take several notes in rapid succession, and don't watch the flashing light, you'll be lucky if you get half of what you think you recorded. I found this same phenomenon on my last Olympus Stylus waterproof camera (shutter lag time was terrible). This seems to run in the Olympus family. So... it will be a long long time before I ever consider another Olympus product.
Does just what I need it to do, Got the idea from a beekeeper friend of mine. Whenever I examine my hives by the time I get inside to write in my journal I've forgotten what I found in which hive! Was it hive #2 that hadn't fully drawn out the frames or was it number 3? Was it #1 that was low on pollen stores or #4? This is the answer to my prayers! Since I'm always talking to "my girls" when I do an exam, this works out perfectly. The voice activation is precise, the recording is clear and easily understood even with a breeze. Amazingly good buy for the money. Couldn't be happier.

Polaroid Digital Voice Recorder PDR302BLK broke very quickly

broke very quickly, I used this recorder for a few days - maybe 15 hours of recording total - before the record button stopped functioning. Now when I press Record it functions as the Stop button.
The recording quality was decent, the included instructions on paper were poor, but there are better ones saved as a PDF on the recorder.

Sony ICD BX700 Digital Voice Recorder Perfect

Sony ICD-BX700 Review, This item works great. Just as the seller described. Quuuick delivery on a new piece. Only drawback I have (and its my fault) is I was expecting it to have a 3.5mm input for the mic. I guess the word digital threw me off. This item is digital, but if you want to store your files into a computer there is no way of dragging and dropping/copying and paste because there is no USB connection. I ended up giving it to my wife.
Perfect, We needed a small but high quality recorder that was easy to use and easily concealed .This product performs as a high quality unit. I have seen many units at a higher price that could not come close to the superior quality in all areas of operation. Excellent unit at a really great price.

Great device but ..., This is a great recorder, the only thing I don't like is the hastle of getting the recording off. One you need a mini plug, then you have to connect it to you recorder though the headphone jack then connect the other end to your computer through the mic jack. Then you have to, open the sound recorder on your computer, then hit record on the computer, then play on the recorder. But other than that I love it.

Sony Voice Recorder, This recorder is great. The sound quality is exceptional at the highest recording level. COntrols are easy to use and everyone loves it. My only regret was not getting the advanced model that has a USB connection so i could store recordings on my PC.
Very good for quick memos but shocking manufacture defect, Good for quick recordings and you don't want to attach it to anything and it's about the perfect size.

I had to put it on the highest quality to hear with very good clarity. I do not know how it would work in a class room type setting to record a lecture. I just needed it to record quick memos which it does good.

As usual with SONY products there is NO BACK LIGHT. It has 5 letters to record to different "folders" but in the dark you can't see them, like at bedtime when all your thoughts seem to coagulate and you can't see all the "folders".

The two main bar buttons below the LCD are hard to access and you may find yourself hitting the other buttons sometimes and it gets a little chore to hit them correctly. Also the delete button on the side is difficult to press and I end up using my fingernail to get to it.

Sometimes accessing a button on one side causes you to accidently operate a button from the other side when you grip to do it.

There is a shocking manufacturing defect. Their is lint or dust BEHIND the LCD protective plastic lens. It is not on top but INSIDE the LCD screen. There is quite a bit if you look real close and you consider this is suppose to be absolutely clean, but you can, of course, still see clearly. But this is UNACCEPTABLE for a SONY product!

There is hole on the top to hang it off I assume a neck band, but there is nothing in the instructions on what type size of loop is needed to secure a loop in it or even what it really is there for? I really would like it off a neck band to be readily accessible. Still having a tough time finding something that will work.
not for who really needs a digital recorder, In primitivism a digital record without pc connection surpasses the cassette recorder. with the later there is no limit of possible records.
using the first maybe you need to erase important files to record others, its a inconceivable thing......
Works great, My girlfriend is working on her PhD and has to write many papers every week which involve a lot of research. She told me that she frequently wakes up early in the morning and her thoughts are clear and ideas seem to flow at that time. When she gets these ideas she starts writing them down right then. When we were talking about this I suggested maybe she get a recorder to just speak her thoughts, which may be much easier and faster, allowing her to get more information recorded more quickly. She had never used a digital recorder and was only used to ones that required the tapes. I researched and found this one and it appeared that it would meet her needs at a good price. I ordered it and she loves it and uses it frequently to capture these early-morning ideas when they are fresh in her mind. Then she goes back and retrieves them later when she's writing her papers.

The sound quality is great, it's easy to use and seems to have great battery life. She says she loves it and doesn't know how she did without it before.
Great for the price, This recorder was great and you can hear everything very clearly. The only thing that I could think of that I didn't like was that I could not upload the recordings to my computer. That would have been perfect but I think you can buy and attachment separately, I didn't have time for that or the money to pay for extra shipping. Also, If you need to record more than 12 hours, this is no good. Other than that is a good product and it works great.

Good little recorder over all, Very easy to use and long battery life, though the sound quality is pretty lame when recording in a teaching environment but gets the job done.

Another Sony let down, If you have windows vista, don't bother with this device. It will not operate. Once again Sony has given me yet another reason to stop buying Sony.

To get the information off the device you are required to have windows xp. They will not update a driver to accomodate a vista computer connection. All because they have their own format on this thing.
Let Down by this recorder, I boought this recorder to record sermons for my church email outreach ministry. The first 7 times I used it the file transfer went smoothly, the sound quality could use some work, but I was still able to use it. As soon as I got comfortable enough to quit taking notes, I had major trouble with the fle transfer not working. I tried all the "help suggestions" but it still does'nt communicate. I'll still trying to use it. But my advice is to keep taking notes just in case. I'm shopping for another recorder.
Excellent transaction, Having owned this model previously, I was looking for a replacemnt for my "lost" recorder. Within an hour of my purchase, I found my first recorder. It is the easiest recorder I have ever used and the lock feature keeps me from accidentally recording over any previous work, not to mention the method by which it files. I have confidence in Sony products and buying the same model keeps all my transcribing software and equipment operational. The digital sound quality is excellent.

It was so SWEEEET to have myself vindicated each time I was accused of being ugly during a conversation on the phone or in person. I LOVED the fact that the internal Mic faces towards the top. I could wear it in a shirt pocket and it caught the conversation from across the table still.

For this pure reason alone, it was worth every cent I paid. It was nice to have technology on my side for something like this... and to see the face of my ex when the recording was played.
Vista Users! DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL, This recorder is a neat little package, and so much so that I purchased additional units in the event my original broke down (I use it for work). I still think that, for the money, it is one of the better models that Sony made (yes, past tense). Unfortunately, since they no longer make them, neither do they provide very good support for this model, which you can discover simply by doing a search using such text as "my ICD-P320 won't work with Windows Vista.

Buyer Beware of Samsung Refurbs, I purchased a refurbed T10 MP3 player, which came with a 90-day warranty from Samsung. Right out of the box it didn't work unless the On/Off switch was manually held in the mid-position. Samsung Customer Service agreed to repair it, but I had to pay the shipping, which I did according to Amazon return guidelines (Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation). 3 weeks later, Samsung claims they never received the unit, even though the USPS website shows they did. I'm now out the purchase price plus S/H on the return, not to mention the time I've wasted in five separate calls (so far) to Samsung Customer Service.
Great mp3 player minor probs, pros:
1) bluetooth capability with no extra addons
2) solid built and yet small and lightweight
3) tons of extra features
4) for the price (100 bucks my brother got it), it is a steal with what it delivers

cons:
1) no extra games, where the hell do I get them?
2) have yet to find software to convert workable videos, (worked with the one included, keeps not converting)
I think if I got to go home again I can tinker and search around for something that would make videos work (stuck in afghanistan)
3) on/off switch sometimes annoying to hold (not big problem)
4) wish samsung would dedicate more time to expand and built there software and firmware for the t10, I think it is an awesome competitor to the stupid ipod and zune and can potentially leave them in the dust.
Awesome mp3 player, I absolutely love this mp3 player. It's has a good price, easy to use and very cute. The battery life is pretty good and the sound quality is awesome. I love playing around with the music speeds and the DNSe. Also, I like how you could delete songs right from the mp3 player itself instead of plugging it back into the computer and doing it from there. The only con is that its not super durable to accidents, my screen cracked after I was careless forgot it in my swim bag. However, I would highly recommend buying this product.
GREAT PRODUCT, Samsung T10 4 GB Slim Portable Media Player with Bluetooth (Black) I have another T 10 which still works fine. I got this one as a back-up. I like the blutooth and the search procedure as well as the picture and video that others may use.

Nice, but could use one thing, I like this product, but I would have liked it better if the little booklet that came with it would have explained how to record from FM. Good product, but no cases., I live an active lifestyle, so when I had this thing for about 3 months, the screen broke. There are no cases that protect the screen available for this device. Otherwise, the device worked well and had charming screen graphics.
Fantastic, Bluetooth capability easily connects to ICON and I am able to hear the music through my hearing aids. Typical Samsung reliable product. Downloads easily, sound quality excellent. Fortunately for me, the operation is basically "idiot proof.
The worst item I have ever bought, It's the worst electronic device that I have ever bought. Not only in the mp3 player. The design and the function all are worst. It suddenly turned off and forever. And, the rewards was not prompt either not enought. I mailed three times to the manufacturer and finally got only $49 without shipping fee. I will never buy Samsung mp3 player and never recommend others to buy it.
I love my T10, This MP3 player does a great job with music and videos. I use mine to receive FM radio, and it autmatically found all of the local FM stations for me. I have loaded most of my photos from my recent Mediterranean cruise tour. I have the Roman colliseum and many other historic places saved to my T10. The quality of this player is outstanding. I bought a refurbished model. It has to be easily as good as a brand news player. I would highly reommend the T10 even if it has been refurbished.

Creative Zen Nano Player White love my zen nano!

Lots of issues, This item has a lot of flaws, the only reason I got it was the price was quite less and it was a nice techy stocking stuffer of sorts. I have listed some of the issues i have seen with this product here:

1. Battery case - this is a flimsy piece of plastic and the finger that enables the cover to click shut will break with the slightest pressue. I totally agree with the other people who commented on this issue.
Do not waste your money on this piece of junk, I want to give this product a zero rating! Within one month of purchase, the battery lid got broken and I could not put it back. I made a phone call to creative and was told that the battery was NOT covered in warranty. The replacement would cost me $4.9 plus shipping and package with totals around 30. I argured with the CSR and they just rudely hang off the phone. I will never ever buy a creative product again. Guys, if you want to waste your money and be treated rudely, do not hesitate.
Good for exercise, The 512 MB player doesn't hold a ton of songs, but is definitely enough room for songs to listen to while exercising. You'll want to purchase the arm strap specifically made for this player. It's available on the Creative site. The main buttons (on/off/pause; volume; and forward/back) are easy enough to work while jogging. The menu system is useless. For example, it let's you skip a folder, but nothing (on the menu or in the online documentation) tells you how to get it back in the play rotation. I've had this player for over a year now and it has been on my arm while jogging in the elements (snow, rain, heat) practically every other day and is still functioning great. The ear buds that come with the player are pretty sad - they fall out and the foam pieces come off rather easily. I finally had to replace them with something less annoying.

Bottom line - if you can get this player cheaply, it's a good buy. Just don't expect it to be comparable to an iPod.
Creative Zen Nano, Low quality, and poor product support from Creative. Very disappointed with this product. It worked for about 6 months of light use, then quit working (turned off or wouldn't turn on at all). Creative tech support recommended downloading new driver, but this didn't help. So I was going to send it in because it is still under warranty. However, they require a non-refundable $25 "diagnostic and handling" fee just to send it in (plus I pay shipping), and there may or may not be additional charges for labor. This doesn't make sense given the value of the player, so the warranty is basically useless. I expressed my dissatisfaction and they suggested that next time I buy their enhanced warranty. I think next time I probably just won't buy a Creative product.
The Creative Zen Nano Plus Rocks!, The Creative Zen Nano Plus MP3 player is very small, not much bigger than a cigarette lighter, but it delivers great sound. From music to audio books, this little gem will not disappoint, especially for the price. The only con is that the battery doesn't charge from the USB port from what I've read, but you can buy rechargeable batteries and a battery charger or an ac adapter.
Not the Best MP3 Player in the World, I went to Circuit City with my dad to buy this MP3 player after my older sister recieved one for Christmas. When I was researching the quality of this product, some of the reviews were not pleasing, but I'm sorry to say I actually went out and bought it. And I'm also sorry to say this review will not be very pleasing either. The exterior casing of the Creative Zen Nano Plus is merely cheap plastic -- flimsy and pathetic next to the iPod nano 2nd Generation's aluminum casing. Scratch marks and scuff marks show up easily and I'm guessing that the curved part that comes off to allow you to change the battery would also break easily if stepped on, etc. The positively worst part of this MP3 player are the earbuds, which fall out if you barely touch the wiring. In order to keep the earbuds in place I have to stick them into my ears at an odd angle which makes even Sound Level 1 too loud to hear someone speak in an "indoor voice". Sadly, there's more: the backlight doesn't stay on long enough to allow you light to see which song is playing, how long it's been playing, etc. There is a "backlight" section in the "Settings", but the longest it can stay illuminated is only 15 seconds. Also, when skipping tracks, you use the same button to scan within a song, making it much harder to scan within the song than skip tracks. Another disappointment is that two of the CDs I tried to load onto this MP3 player weren't read as "being there", although they work fine when I listen to them on my WalkMan, DVD player, computer, etc.
on par with sandisk sansa series, this player looks cooler than the sansa series, and seems to crash/have errors less, but:

- it lacks a lock button
- the display only shows the song title and track time and battery life (the sansas show much more info)
- the "wheel button" feels cheesy like it could break and doesn't make control any easier
- the headphones are more uncomfortable and fall out for me (i think they are too big, and i have a big head)

overall, i'd say it has a much better value than an ipod, but about the same value as the sansas.
love my zen nano!, i love this thing. i've had it for several years now and it just keeps going. i was trying to decide which brand to buy and my girlfriend had a zen nano and accidentally washed and dried hers in the laundry machines and it kept working! i was sold on creative from that point on. i've since moved on to bigger and better creative players, but i still have my zen nano and break it out occasionally. i also think it has great sound quality.
nice little mp3, no complaints from this reviewer ;this is the 3rd Creative product which I've purchased;the other 2 are still working good and I got this one because it's small enough to carry in my shirt pocket. I always keep it in a plastic pouch so maybe that's helped the battery lid from breaking off. never experienced any problem loading music or mp3 podcasts from my laptop, I just drag and drop the files into my mp3 player & works beautifully.
The little mp3 player that keeps going and going and going..., I bought this little guy a few years ago, have dropped it, scratched it, played it 'til it turned blue. It's amazing that the battery cover hasn't broken; heck, that the whole thing hasn't. Great sound output and battery life as well.
